US Markets rally on 5th Day despite of Shut down
The US government shut down after a deadlocked
Congress failed to reach a deal on funding.
immediate effect of a partial US government shutdown
is likely to be a delay in key US macro releases, including
the US employment report today.
The shutdown is expected to continue until next week.
US ADP revealed that US Pvt. Sec. payrolls declined
by 32,000 in September. This figure followed the
3,000 decrease (revised from a 54,000 increase)
reported in August and came in below the
market expectation of 50,000.
Job openings in US showed the labor market is slowing,
yet vacancies rose from 7.21 to 7.23 million in August.
Digging into data, Hiring rate edged down to 3.2%,
the lowest level since June 2024
Dallas Fed President Lorie Logan was hawkish,
stating inflation is above target and trending upward.
Despite this, she recognized risks on both sides of the
dual mandate, adding that the labor market is cooling.
Eurozone unemployment unexpectedly rises to 6.3%,
adding pressure to ECB outlook as growth risks
remain tilted lower.
Chinese banks will be closed in observance of
National Day. German banks will be closed
in observance of German Unity Day.
Korean banks will be closed in observance of
National Foundation Day.
