All Eyes On....

Donald Trump announced a 100% tariff on

  “any and all movies that are made outside of the US,”

  throwing the global entertainment industry,

  including global streaming services like Netflix and

  India’s “Bollywood,” into turmoil.

China’s NBS Manufacturing PMI rises to

   49.8 in Sep., Non-Mfg PMI falls to 50.

Consensus is firmly for no change from RBA

   with polls and market-implied odds pointing to

   the RBA holding the cash rate at

   3.60% while it waits on Q3 inflation.

Gov. funding will expire at midnight on Tuesday

   unless Republicans and Democrats agree to a

   last-minute temporary spending deal, with Donald Trump

   and his opponents making little progress at a White House meeting.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York President

   John Williams said that emerging signs of weakness

   in the labour market drove his support for cutting

   interest rates at the most recent central bank meeting.
