US consumer sentiment lost momentum in September,

as the  Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence 

Index  fell to 94.2 from a revised 97.8 (from 97.4),

 curtailing the previous recovery.

US President Donald Trump has warned

of mass federal job cuts if Congress fails to pass a 

funding bill, effectively putting his own government 

at risk and threatening further disruptions 

to federal operations.

The US ISM Manufacturing PMI is expected to

reach 49.0 in September, after 48.7 in August.

 Chinese banks will be closed in observance of National Day.
